Just under a decade ago I began working at a local punk venue. Sure, there was a fair share of metal and indie and folk coming through, but it wasn't known for it. I spent six years there in those dark days, three times a week, every week. This doesn't define me whatsoever, but the community there helped shaped me. There it was accepted to be different, encouraged even. There was love and support for your fellow brother and its as if you could just really be a human being, you know? Not a human doing. I've been chasing that feeling ever since. Those few moments of electric bliss- whether it comes from a shared experience, a connection to another in any of the forms they come in, and the simple moments of real life.
