I just haven't been feeling much like writing. Looked at my blog and other's blogs ... just ... don't feel much.
Guess I better get some stuff out. I came really close to writing another erotic story about Valentine's Day, just never did. I got my wife a birthday gift (making her a homemade chrome diopside pendant necklace, which is a dark green gemstone). The items were sent to her workplace so we wouldn't risk losing them. The place sent both parts seperately, her boss signed for the first item, but threw a hissy fit and demanded that the second part (the gemstone) to be returned to sender. Now it seems lost in the post office as the company hasn't gotten it back yet ... It's been over a month since I ordered the items ... It's gotten me real depressed as there's nothing I can do about it, other than wait.
Work, I'm on the last crew, now doing the north side. They have welcomed me decentally, but the 2nd in command is making life pretty hard on me, acting like I lie or am lazy ... odd, but oh well ... gotta make it work. Last week was a killer week, multiple HUGE trees to take down (~36 tons of tree taken down in 2 days) climbed a pair of HUGE trees (went up roughly 70 foot) to trim them. So I was wore out ... ripped two pairs of pants to being completely worthless trash. Both times were on school days where I don't have time to stop by home before class starts. Live and let live ...
My best friend, he's still having heart problems from about a year ago. He finally got a replacement heart, got his taken out and the new one put in. Confused all the doctors, as his body accepted the heart, but it didn't work right. Came to the conclusion that the heart wasn't working correctly when they got it ... so he has a mechanical heart keeping him alive till another heart can be found ... he's been sedated into a coma for the last 18 days and counting ... not sure he's going to make it ... and he's the same age as I am.
Guess I'm the last of our band of warriors. Three warriors ... we grew together as we recognized how our battle lust and blood flowed. Three with the same mentality. Three that also happened to be very school-wise. I'm the lowest at the moment, as I'm almost to my BS, staying near the top of the class in everything, receiving awards. My brother, he died years ago, almost got his Doctorates. My best friend, whom did receive his Doctorates, about to go ... I'm left alone again, in their shadow, catching up.
Class, next week will be my first final, as my classes are 1st half of the semester, then my other classes are 2nd half of the semester. Slow going, ... full time worker, half time student, full time father ... not much time left. I'm top of the class again. Shocked the teacher how I'm beating everyone by so much, breaking the benchmark grading system she used ... I hate that system, makes me feel like I'm hurting everyone else in the class. She assumes that everyone in her class has a decent financial job, accountant, IT, etc ... she tries to make everything work for those jobs in her teaching. It's sad, because nothing she adds is any help for my job trimming trees ... aside from the fact that if I had an accounting type job, I'd already be doing what she's suggesting, as it only makes sense ... well, to me anyway ... I've heard some of my co-worker's questions ... and mouthed the answers the teacher gives ... while the inanity of the questions boggle my mind.

Well, I think that's about it. I actually watched the Oscars ... normally I really don't care much about it. Years ago, I used to watch for the honor the movies got, then saw complete jokes get the awards over truly aweing movies, just to sway the types of movies that procuders were making. When you use awards to manipulate people, the awards lose most of their value. I watched to see what Ellen would do, as I find her quite humorous. Plus the pre-Oscars Jimmy Kimmel (and Post-Oscars) shows were quite good.

A few movies I would like to see, added Nebraska to my list of "want to watch sometime" looks like it would be a great movie. Then I read a fellow blogger give it a great review ... even better

Well, it's bed time, ... way past bed time, hopefully I can actually get my car out of the parking spot (bad ice/snow, and cruddy apt drive ways clearing)

Be safe, have fun

Well, it's been a week. Snow has been everywhere. The had five days off from school because travel wasn't safe ... Two days I couldn't even get a car out of the parking spot. I had my first exam for school. I thought it was an open book exam so I memorized where to find everything. Nope, it was closed book. I still did fairly well though. I tried doing our taxes, but I needed forms from the mortgage company. I think they mailed them to our old house ... they were never too intelligent.
I ripped two pairs of jeans recently. I had to wear one of them to school, as I don't have time after work to stop by home. It ... was ... akward. Just now I ripped my winter coat on the work truck's door. Coats used to be more durable.
Next week I get kicked out of my new crew for the other crew. I just found out that I'll be riding with the insane person ... yay ...
I don't feel sexy. I think that conttibuted to my being so quiet for so long. Every winter I tend to add weight for warmth etc. I'm hoping I can actually climb this year and get lean again. My wife still says that I'm sexy, but hearing it doesn't make you believe it.

At least I didn't do what this guy did.

His supervisor told him that we wasn't going to be around that day, so he wanted the guy to cut brush down to fit in the trucks to make it easier to go to the dump. He handed the guy a hand saw and left. The guy started working, but got tired due to the hardness of the wood (hedge and mulberry). He looked around and found a chainsaw (small climbing saw) and even though he hadn't been authorized to use one. Started cutting the dirt covered wood with it. It dulled fast, so he found a Brand New Chain and put it on. The chainsaw still wasn't cutting too well and started smoking pretty fiercly. He knew it was a Brand New Chain and that it shouldn't be dull, so he just kept forcing it into the wood. Yep, pretty soon the saw caught on fire on burned up.

Yep, he put the Brand New Chain on BACKWARDS!!!

Let's see if I can remember how to do this.

No, not sex you perverts! Rather, how to make thoughtful posts. It's been a while. Last semester ended and I surprised myself by getting A's and an Academic award. Holidays came and went. Spring semester started. Still, i didn't feel like writing.
I got a new phone. It's nicer in some aspects; yet, different enough from what I had gotten used to. I downloaded the a f f app, it looked like a good thing, as the web page kept going to the mobile page that doesn't have anything with the blogs. In a nutshell, the app doesn't work. I got it to work correctly twice, then nothing. I finally figured out how to go to the full web page and not the mobile page. Still, this phone's keyboard makes me feel like I'm chicken pickin' with one finger to write. I'll get used to it.

I surprised my wife on her birthday by getting her a new necklace with a trillion cut dark green Chrome Diopside pendent. Next week the materials should arrive so i can finish making it.

Snow hit us hard here in Ks. Still, we've been cutting down trees. I'm still looking for a good desk job, while work dispersed my crew into the other two crews. I got on the crew that i wanted. We finally got four new positions opened up to get more workers ... 3 went to promote current workers and the fourth went to an old employee that was almost fired. I missed applying for the position that would've been a promotion for me. I figured it would've ended on friday like every job opening. Nope, it ended on Thursday. So aside from no one telling anyone that these positions were open, they closed them early. A stupid redneck got the position, the same redneck the cut up a co-worker with a saw. I would've beat him handily in a competition. Our boss was looking forward to our competition, mainly to show the redneck what a real climber looks like. He was shocked when he found out I hadn't applied. No kidding, maybe if he had informed me that it had finally opened up after five years ... Anyway, at City Hall, they aren't opening any more postions because "we just got 4 new people!" When we got 3 promotions and an old crappy employee that might get fired soon after he shows up, still, City Hall thinks we got 4 new workers. This is how government "creates" jobs ... /sigh
The supervisor of one of out 2 crews refuses to have the returning employee, so, when he shows up next week, he'll take my spot and I'll have to change crews ... yay! at least both supervisors are fighting to get me. Seems I'm one of the few workers that doesn't start trouble and am a team player, whatever that means ...

I'm not worried or upset, in time I'll get a good desk job and leave these dangerous redneck idiots.

For now, I have a challenge: I want you to look back into your past and think of some bad thing that happened that made a positive change to you.
These are the things that shake up how we percieve and feel. These enact actual change - a metamorphosis if you will - into ourselves. Find one time. Remember it, understand why you changed, be thankful for the positives it created in your life.
Now, think of one special positive time in your life. These times reinforce and strengthen how you percieve and feel things. Be thankful for it and have a wonderful weekend!

Well, guess it's been two weeks since my last post. A lot of stuff has happened.. Our government shut down. Fault lies with both parties, though the democrats are much better at using the media to point fingers. The double speak used pisses me off because it does nothing but confuse the public and makes this much more complex, but enough of that.

I'm getting used to the extra , though it's causing me to do my school work late at night, reducing my sleep. I've been sleeping during my lunch break instead of posting or reading other peoples posts.

I just finished one college class and did a mid term for another class. My instructors like putting us in groups. Honestly I dislike working with others. We spent weeks changing everything for a large project, only to agree with a plan that was identical to my original proposal, along with dozens of confusing e-mails and text messages ... All while I'm working. To top it off, the requirement to take this class, you have to have completed a professional writing course that shows you how to write good e-mails and texts ... And everyone in my group is doing the exact opposite of that class ... Sigh.

Well, I've ran out of room on my phone screen, and this break is now over, so I'll end here.

In a quick nutshell. After the hospital scare four weeks ago, getting used to correctly prescribed medication, the friday before last friday ... My sister-in-law's husband decided to try and kill her. He probably would've if he wasn't out of shape and if my wife and I weren't banging on their door and calling the police.
Our house has become a safe haven for the . I got used to a couple of older , trying to get used to 5-6 active with most being young.
We've helped her a bit with getting the necessary court orders police documents, and helping her feel safe again, in this new life.

Just a quick update

So how is this trending list supposed to work again?

ok, this trending list is still confusing me. I believe they said it was based on activity, length of post, complexity of words, and length of time from when it was first posted. There must be other criteria also, or it's singles out certain blogs to make it harder to get a higher rank.
Today, I saw the list. The first three were posted about the same time. The first had 400 views and was a private friends only to read and comment, (why would that be trending???), the second had 100 more views, only 6 comments ... About 5 simple sentences. Third had 100 more views than the second, 18 comments, about 12 simple and complex sentences ... How in the blazes is that only third??? It's longer, more complex, a lot more views and comments.

Further down, a recent picture post, 1 sentence, with 60 views no comments, 12 places in front of another recent post with three paragraphs, 80 views, four comments ... WTH??? I just don't get it!

Looking forward to Thursday

I am looking forward to Thursday ... because real NFL games begin. I am a huge Patriots fan and Wildbutt is a huge Buccaneers fan (She yells at the tv more than I do! ) The Preseason was nice, but it's for fine tuning the team rather than winning.

I like doing picks for which teams will win/lose each week, and Wildbutt likes it too. I tried posting them last year on my blog, sometimes I got them written up on time, sometimes I didn't ... but now our computers are in the same room as the big tv, so I should be able to post picks in time / during the games.

I know, several of my watchers and lurkers are probably rolling their eyes; however, I believe it will help keep myself and Wildbutt thinking about enjoyable stuff.

So please bare with me as I am planning on doing NFL picks again this year, feel free to skip these posts if you are not into the NFL. (and yes, I will still do normal blogging posts and erotic stories among the NFL pick posts ... as the pick posts should get my on my blog more often )

Boots, time, sweat and a challenge. A goulash of ideas and odd ends.

It's been a while. I noticed this truth when I realized that I had finally caught up with my watched blogs list for the first time in 2-3 weeks. I found myself holding certain blogs later because I was confident that I would want to leave a comment. By leaving a comment, I would then have to click on three links to get back to my watched blogs list, with my slow phone connection and the slow site, I just didn't want to use that much time.
I thought getting the computers up would make it easier to post and read. I was wrong. I found that I truly have very little recreational time at the moment. I haven't been able to get enough sleep, and that just helps wreck my recreational time as I end up just sitting. Toss in extra worry and sadness from misprescribed medicine, hospital admittance and dismissal, loss of a major person in a good friend of mine, and now I get to fight with insurance that is denying payments.

My work boots have started falling apart ... Hit them enough with a chainsaw and logs and they actually will fall apart!

Yes, high quality work is put into these! For anti-rust for the steeltoe and for extra waterproofing they only use the highest quality Wal-Mart plastic bags to stuff into the toe! I noticed this a few days ago while having rivers of sweat pour down my body. The worst day of sweat, all of my clothes were drenched, only dry parts were SOME of my jeans that were over my boots, they only had streams of sweat that leaked down from the higher parts.

A challenge: When you get service from a minimum wage worker (or near minimum wage) show them genuine respect and thank them. Most of these workers expense a lot of disrespect and demeaning attitudes, MOST do not deserve this. A little respect out of the blue can reestablish that are worthwhile humans with needs, desires, rights, and responsibilities.

Thank you for reading my misc post. I will get back into posting again.

Forget the fifth grader, Are you smarter than the person that hired you?

I found this book in the HR Manager's office bookshelf. It scared me.

If the person that hired you proudly shows off this book, then yeah, you ARE smarter!

Would you still have confidence in a HR manager that used this book? How about other professions? Such as a trainer that has a well used idiots guide to training? Or the person that's doing your taxes having the idiots guide to taxes on the shelf right behind the desk?
Well, would you?

Sorry I have posted much in the past several days. I had my birthday. I should really start getting apprehensive about it rather than looking forward to it. Crap always tends to appear around it. This year was no different. It'll probably start getting better in November

Anyway ... I dunno ...

NAKED LADIES!!!

... are blooming! I really enjoy naked ladies when they're blooming. This is one of the last pictures of our house plants, the move is over (unpacking over half done).
We used to have a row of Naked Ladies in front of our house, now, the maintenance man would mow them down.

Do you think it should be a crime to mow down naked ladies? Just frowned upon? Or do you think it's perfectly acceptable to mow them down?

Here is my bee sting, just above my elbow. Honestly, I thought today was thursday, took this quickly right after my shower. This morning I was shocked at how big and dead feeling the sting spot was, about the size of an orange.

Ever shocked at how an injury looked when you finally see it on yourself?

Just an observation about standard blogs.

I can only check on the blogs every so often, and I noticed something. I had noticed it a few months ago. Whenever a standard member (without having enough profile views to qualify for bonus advantages) makes a post, it has to be "approved" by an a f f person before it will show up on the blogs. With all the hullabaloo about making the blogs "fair" and allowing those "hidden gems" to be found. I figured that approval for standard members would be removed ... Nope still there.
I made a post and added it at 9:40 am, couldn't check until 11:10, I was shocked, no views, I checked the recent posts list, it wasn't there, just a bunch of gold and silver members and 2 standard blogs (enough views to have extra benefits) at 11:25 I checked again, it was there ... 32nd in the list ... Further down than most people would scroll. When I first noticed it, was a day when all standard posts took over 12 hours for approval.
If a f f really wanted the blogs fair, removing that wait for approval should be removed. It's not anything that someone would pay for a gold membership for. It's not security of content, gold and silver members get instant post, it'd save a f f work hours approving every standard post.
It just doesn't make any sense to me, could anyone else help me understand why they even put it up at the start or why continue it?
