I know I am being confusing. I was "stuck" (or so I thought) in the "beta" piece of crap. Some is a result of my temper. I think I did post a piece of crap there. Now I found the real word .
How much things have changed and how shocked we are by the old style ideas. Our thoughts have changed for certain and we are alot more senstive today. I wonder what the thought patterns were back then? Seemed so insensitive. Do you remember any of these from your younger years? Were they insenstive to you at the time? Are there any that still stand a need to be changed today?

Sheesh, not that way!! This is a business proposition. Again Talk Radio had an interesting, albeit weird subject yesterday. Here is the nut shell of the subject, actually it is leasing your body for commercial advertisements........[/ "Lease Your Body allowed advertisers to meet good-looking people willing to rent out space on their bodies, including necks, upper arms, forearms, hands, stomachs, lower backs, and foreheads, for temporary tattoo placement. Rates for these body parts cost anywhere from $100 to $5,000." I had not heard about this, seems a bit odd, and when I checked, there are several companies doing it. Do you think you would ever do it? If you did, what product would you choose?

She is my "go to" distraction and source of philosophy .Maxine seems to strip the extraneous part of issues away and get to the meat of the issue. I think it would be a lot of fun to have a real Maxine in my life. A no BS source of advice. About 30 years ago, I met a crusty old fellow , with what turned out to be a heart of gold. Unfortunately, I never fully appreciated him, until he passed away. Have you ever had any one like this in your life? Are you a "Maxine" ? If you run across one, value them, they are such a source of wisdom

Just how important is a hot beverage to you, to start your day? For me it is coffee, and I suspect for others it is tea?. There is something soothing to me, sipping a hot cup of coffee in the morning. It seemed to be a constant while I was in the military. I have never developed a taste for tea though. While we are on the morning subject, do you eat breakfast? If you do, is it considered important for you to start the day? For me, it is my foundation for the day, gets me fueled and ready to go.

I have been a "breakfast boy" all my life . being charged up made doing my chores much simpler . Through out farm life it was simple and plentiful (such great memories). Where it became critical was in the military for so many years generally it was a specific time for a meal. The later meal times could be fluctuating. I still am a breakfast person. Brought up my kids to it. My godsons also Where you introduced to breakfast? Did you enjoy it? If you do, what do you enjoy? Here are some examples of past and current military breakfasts

Todays the day. As silly as it seems, the day is actually fun. It is a good way to extend the fun for the season
Since 2011, National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day has grown to be an international event. Now occurring on the third Friday of December, the celebration gives holiday lovers worldwide a chance to wear their ugly Christmas sweaters. Each year, ugly Christmas sweater wearers, decorate, shop, and do their darndest to out ugly last year’s ugliest sweater. Whether they sport the most lights or colors, bells or characters, ugly sweater wearers find the most ribbon and felt ladened sweaters and festoon them with glitter so blinding no Dustbuster invented will capture the wave left behind. The sweaters serve as beacons of light so bright, Rudolph himself will someday be out of a job.
I am wearing one today and waiting to see the silly. There are tracks of modest and a shocking naughty 😊. I really enjoy the childrens tracks, But will have to admit the naughty adult lane😊. Are you into it today, or for that matter any other time?

Oh the information and advice from the married years! It took me awhile to catch on but I eventually caught on and started to pay attention. Through out history there have been "allegations" that the man is in charge. But the reality is that although quiet, the woman runs the show . Some guys just do not catch on and life starts to get very difficult. Going with the flow makes things so much easier. Do you, or did you have a similar experience? Some of my friends were smart and learned this from the men in their families, others not so much? Ladies, how have the men acted?

This is the answer to the metrosexual and the latest thing in men's fashion
By Shelley Hazen, Newser Staff .Posted Nov 13, 2014 8:14 AM CST
Newser) – He's unshaven, a little dirty, and dresses like a woodsman. No, he's not a slob, he's … sexy? This guy—think Tim "the Tool Man" Taylor, Nick Offerman, or Chuck Norris—is a lumbersexual, apparently. And just what is that? He's the opposite of the shaven and moisturized metrosexual, with all his skinny jeans and hair gel, Gear Junkie explains. The lumbersexual wears an "unkempt beard, nothing tight, plaid, maybe even plaid on plaid, and an appropriate level of disaffection," writes Tom Puzak. "His backpack carries a MacBook Air, but looks like it should carry a lumberjack's axe." But these lovers of the "pseudo-outdoors" live in concrete jungles, sporting their flannel and work boots on the streets of LA or New York.
"The lumbersexual spends the same amount of , but looks filthy," writes Aleksander Chan at Gawker. "Both kinds of men are working very hard to fashion themselves into a certain look." And the look came from the gay community, contends Tim Teeman at the Daily Beast. They invented the "smooth, pretty gay metrosexual," and their "hairier brethren," the "bears" and cubs" inspired the lumbersexual.
This discussion is about men that have this look for style, not those that are this way because of their work.
I guess to each their own. I have no interest in this look. My only comment (s), isn’t it readily apparent that a person is “fronting” and is not who they represent themselves to be? I may be a bit too much into details , but the accessories in some of these examples have clearly never been used.
So a couple questions. Have you ever heard of this ‘look” before? Is it attractive to you. Or guys, is it something you would do?

Maybe the scent of a sweaty guy?

Look at the pipe. Never been used, pristine condition.

Don’t they have an “app” for that?

Last night and today are a bit unique. My dogs and I are babysitting a pair of young dogs for a friend. They are actually the same breeds as my dogs although younger. A bullmastiff and a Pyrenees . As much of a pain in the butt they are, it is so refreshing to have them around. They are not mature, so it is not unusual to have them just shoot of into something or another . This is a first for us. Now I am almost tempted to adopt another one or two, just for the fun of having them and training them. Do you have a dog or two? If not, would like to? To me, the only thing better than a puppy is to have a baby person around

Today is a simple reminder of something smart . Taking your lunch to work or school or anywhere is an effective way to save money and to ensure you and your family are eating healthy. Some think it is a relatively new health trend. I can remember as a kid, taking that brown bag to school with goodies that Mom had prepared. In retrospect, it is such a warm feeling, having the home made food over the School prepared mush . Actually through my adult life, I preferred to have my bag lunch over going to fast food. It was not always practical though. One thing that really ticked me off was after I retired from the military and went to work for a corporation, they insisted on having business meetings during lunch time. I never could understand why they wanted us to give up our unpaid lunch time to produce work that they could charge the customer for . I would not attend, which they could do nothing about, but imagine the amount of income they generated on the backs of employees. The bag lunch can actually be in many forms, using Tupper ware was a favorite of mine. Have you ever Brown Bagged your lunch? For yourself or the kids for school?

Part of my view of the Christmas season. This is a poem of a Leatherneck (US Marine). I believe ever country has a similar selection of military

The Original Poem,
as printed in the December 1991 edition of "Leatherneck":

'Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,
In a one-bedroom house made of plaster and stone.
I had come down the chimney, with presents to give
and to see just who in this home did live.
As I looked all about, a strange sight I did see,
no tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No stocking by the fire, just boots filled with sand.
On the wall hung pictures of a far distant land.

With medals and badges, awards of all kind,
a sobering thought soon came to my mind.
For this house was different, unlike any I’d seen.
This was the home of a U.S. Marine.

I’d heard stories about them, I had to see more,
so I walked down the hall and pushed open the door.
And there he lay sleeping, silent, alone,
Ced up on the floor in his one-bedroom home.
He seemed so gentle, his face so serene,
Not how I pictured a U.S. Marine.
Was this the hero, of whom I’d just read?
Ced up in his poncho, a floor for his bed?

His head was clean-shaven, his weathered face tan.
I soon understood, this was more than a man.
For I realized the families that I saw that night,
owed their lives to these men, who were willing to fight.

Soon around the Nation, the children would play,
And grown-ups would celebrate on a bright Christmas day.
They all enjoyed freedom, each month and all year,
because of Marines like this one lying here.
I couldn’t help wonder how many lay alone,
on a cold Christmas Eve, in a land far from home.
Just the very thought brought a tear to my eye.
I dropped to my knees and I started to cry.

He must have awoken, for I heard a rough voice,
“Santa, don’t cry, this life is my choice
I fight for freedom, I don’t ask for more.
My life is my God, my country, my Corps.”

With that he rolled over, drifted off into sleep,
I couldn’t control it, I continued to weep.

I watched him for hours, so silent and still.
I noticed he shivered from the cold night’s chill.
So I took off my jacket, the one made of red,
and covered this Marine from his toes to his head.
Then I put on his T-shirt of scarlet and gold,
with an eagle, globe and anchor emblazoned so bold.
And although it barely fit me, I began to swell with pride,
and for one shining moment, I was Marine Corps deep inside.

I didn’t want to leave him so quiet in the night,
this guardian of honor so willing to fight.
But half asleep he rolled over, and in a voice clean and pure,
said “Carry on, Santa, it’s Christmas Day, all secure.”
One look at my watch and I knew he was right,
Merry Christmas my friend,
Semper Fi and goodnight.

That RAK is Random Acts of Kindness. I always feel good whenever I can "RAK" someone or some people. It can be almost anything, big or small. Many people are totally unaware "it" is coming to them. Many are elderly , they are a big part of our backgrounds here. I think it is so good for society. Many of these folks are just a time or place were a little something will make difference. A RAK is also a good sample of life for the younger folks, they enjoy the pleasure of helping and realize that it "costs" almost no time. Have you ever been the recipient of RAK? Do you conduct RAKs? December is a big time for me to remind myself of this. Every little bit is good for Christmas/

@#$% National Lager Day

National Lager Day on December 10th raises a glass to the third most popular beverage after water and tea. While lager is typically characterized as a light, summer beer we believe that every season deserves to be celebrated with a few of your favorite things.

Lagers are distinguished from other beers by using a cold-conditioning process. The types of yeast used are referred to as “bottom-fermenting” yeast or yeast that can develop at colder temperatures. Before the advent of refrigeration, brewers perfected this process in cellars dug into the ground and filled with ice. Those who taste the delicious results described the lager as “crisp” and “refreshing.” It is no wonder that this method caught on and produced a wide variety of brews synonymous with regional and national brands. One of the world’s oldest prepared beverages, beer possibly dates back to 9500 BC when cereal was first farmed. It is also recorded in the written history of ancient Iraq and ancient Egypt.

I am a man of simple beverage tastes, coffee or beer keeps me ticking. I have traveled extensively overseas, and have run into beer (some qualities sucked though) in all countries. I used to be a significant drinker of beer, but as I have aged , my consumption has backed off a lot. The taste is so comforting, but I do not need large amounts any more. Do you consume beer? If you do, is there a particular type you like? Mine is fairly easy,,, COLD and FREE .
