Police Officers (COPS)

I have noticed the increased of people hating on cops, example, I was walking today, was getting dark, there was a police officer in his cruiser, he is sometimes just park there, is a little street next to my neighborhood, I guess just waiting for people that speeds or causing trouble, I have seen him before, when I pass his cruiser he said, Hi, I see you like walking, have seen you a few times, I said yes, then he said to be careful cause is getting dark and is not safe, anyhow he ended up walking with me, then when I got to the building I say, well I live here, thanks for the company, that was nice of you. he said no problem at all, have a good evening. turn around to walk back to his cruiser.

I came in, and a neighbor stop me in the hallway, and said, what was the cop doing or saying to you ?. I said nothing, he just walk me here to make sure I was safe cause it was dark. neighbor said, what, that's something, cause he gave me a hard time the other day, he even want it to pad me down cause he said I was dress suspicious, I was just walking and had walking/exercise attire. and went on to call him a racist asshole...I say, I dunno know what to tell you, and walk away.

I actually never have had any problem or any bad experience with the police, never have, I be laying if I say that they have treat me wrong. but I have notice how more and more people are getting more defensive tours them. I am sure they have their reasons, but I don't, I am actually thankful that they are around, cause there are a lot of jerks or flat out bad trouble people, they are the ones that protect us. yes, they are not perfect. nobody is, I am sure there are a few bad apples, but majority of them are good. is more, I have had officers that have giving me a ride home, cause I was a little drunk outside a bar in the morning hours waiting for my taxi, taxi was taking forever, and 2 cops that were there offer me a ride cause it was cold....I also have a few friends that are cops, with whom I have sexually mess with, in the past, now we are just friends, no more nookie, they are very nice honest guys, leaving pics of them, partially cover the face cause those are private pictures and cause of the nature of the site. I don't think every cop deserves to be look as a bad guy over a simple or little thing. some of them are wonderful people once you know them.

Yes I have pics in private settings with them, but that would be a whole different post or show >>!

You are so right I know a lot of police officers and county sheriffs right now they are scared that they are being targeted because of a couple of bad cops. 99.9% are good people who just want to serve and protect!

I think is the times and social media who have a lot to do with that.

to continue my cat hit the button, You say it only one side of the story, well try walking a mile in a black person shoes and see how you feel then, don't give me don't put race into it because I have heard that lie too many times, I got pull over driving speed the speed limit or less taking my youngest son to a mostly white private school, In the morning during rush hour, His only excuse for pulling me over was he got the wrong car, I was driving a Audi A6 Quatro, I paid cash, because I save my dam money to get what I wanted. so because your skin is white they don't give you a hard time, I have seen cops watch white drivers do thing wrong in their car and ignore it, while the white person get away with it they pull over a black driver for not using a turn signal, but white drivers are during it in front of them. I know you didn't want to bring race into this but wake up this is why people give cops a bad , because they give it to themselves

There's quite a few reasons that cops tend to unjustly get a bad , I'll list a few of them here.

There's history: not too long ago there were a lot of problems with police corruption. Only a hundred years or so ago, (might have been more recent, I don't exactly have a history book open in front of me) police were chosen by politicians, and they were expected to do what those politicians said, and publicly support them without question or risk being fired.

Then there is a misconception that many immigrants bring with them. That is that since most police in developing countries were corrupt, those immigrants bring with them an inherent mistrust of police in general.

Next is media coverage. Whenever one police officer makes a mistake or kills someone, the mass media is all over it, they blame the police without getting all the facts, talk about how the police kill so many people, and then when evidence shows that the police were in the right they glaze over it because it doesn't make a good story. One thing that is never covered by the media is that every year in America police are estimated to have only killed somewhere between 400 to 1000 people, that includes people who start shoot outs with the police, traffic accidents, gun misfires, etc. That number is tiny compared to the people who die due to mistakes made in hospitals by doctors, which is estimated around 150,000 people per year.

I could go on, but I think I'll end this with the fact that people also just don't like getting speeding tickets, and so tend to paint police over as assholes who like to sit around looking for people to give tickets to all day.
That is a great assessment, Thank you for your input. very interesting points. would love to read more of you. Welcome to my blogs!!!

Ok, let me start by saying that I accept and respect everyone's view in the matter. I am positive that there are people who's right have been violated for no reason. Now we all that being said, walking in someone else shoes, No, I obviously can't do that. that is a saying but it honestly doesn't make sense, no one can walk in your shoes like you can't walk in someone else shoes. cause everyone as individuals are responsible and should be held accountable to how clean or how dirty you keep your shoes with the law.
I hear you and understand about getting pull over for no reason, I have heard that also from a few of my friends, they feel they were target (they are Spanish). But did he give you a ticket? probably not. and why exactly do you think he pulled you over?.
Also, No, I am not white, I am Hispanic/Latina. I am positive they could heard my Spanish accent when talking to me, therefore they know/knew that my race was not white.
Again. I am not saying every Police Officer is good, cause that will be very stupid/naive of me, just like us as the public, some of us respect the law and some of us don't, same thing. but there are a lot of good cops. and they don't get credit for their work. is not an easy thing to be fighting crime, to be in the streets day or night not knowing what you will encounter or in what situation you will be in, they ran in to all different type of people and have to directly deal with them. not an easy task to handle.

You and I aren't arguing , we are discussing something we both have a difference of opinion about, this is why we all blog to hear other peoples opinion about something, Please don't use that psychology stuff doesn't work with me. I don't form any opinion about anything until I see it for myself, and IF you are living in the worst part of the city, and they are pulling over more white than black well they figure they are buying or looking for drugs, and hinji you are correct it is politics, money and racism,

nicelipss66 it is a figure of speech not that you would put someone shoes on , yuck, you are right not all cops are bad and I never sad they were, you ask for an opinion about why people give cops a bad and I give you that, Everyone has a job to do no matter what it is but you can do your job with respect of others and most will give you respect back, You decide to take a job either because that what you want to do or because you need a job, You, me and the rest of the world don't go around padding everyone on the back saying you did a great job thank you, or give you credit for the job you do.

I almost spill my water on the yuck part Hahahaha

And yes, I totally agreed with you here, and yes, I did ask...I guess it makes sense. Thank you for the nice adult opinion.

But let me ask, see I am very naive at this things, in other words ignorant at some things that are going on, so let me ask, what does an Audi has to do with getting pulled over? hahaha, I am curious to know, I want the gossip LOL. I drive a 2004 toyota that is probably why they don't even care about me, they see me and think, that bitch is broke, lets help her out Hahaha

Well I'll be up front from the start. I work in my county jail as a Sheriff's deputy. I agree that there are plenty of times of racial profiling and crooked cops. Now with that being said the vast majority are good. My coworkers and I work 24/7 365. We work holidays, birthdays, foul weather that no one in their right mind would be out in. I have personally dealt with some of the foulest individuals in our society that think I'm the problem and not them. Yes there are major problems in our legal system but trying living your life with cops at all and see how it goes.

Police have a lot of power. What they don't have is a lot of accountability. Police should be responsible for what they do, just like everyone else.

There's a myth that it's easy to sue the police. It's just not. That's why many law firms just won't take a police misconduct case. The reason - aside from often having to prove that a cop lied - is that police get to hide behind a doctrine called "qualified immunity." What that basically means is that if there's any viable argument at all that what the cop did was legal, the cop can't be held responsible.

The people who enforce the law shouldn't be above it.
Makes sense to me, I think you have a point in there.

btw, please feel free to pad me down anytime....happyf;

Cops are people too.... there's good ones and bad ones

They automatically get a bad because people don't like being told what to do
Folks tend to forget what it would be like if they weren't around...
Like the song say "You don't know what you got till it's gone"

"A full blown basket of hash browns with a steaming cup of 'WTF?" on the side"

If it wasn't for the police, our towns, states, countries would be in a state of anarchy. Yes there will be one or two bad apples in amongst them, but that is true fro every profession, and the rest should not be tainted with the same brush as those bad ones.

there are always a few bad eggs in every profession. politicians are the biggest crooks and robbers. I have been pulled over a few times and no matter what race or sex the officer was, I respected them. Sure I got upset when I was ticketed, but they were doing their job.
