IM? Messages?

Is anyone else having troubles with IM or messages going through? Recently I have been having so problems with them not going through and just wondering if its the site or not?

 I am one of the ones who ignores IMs since I prefer to receive a regular message even though I am a standard member.

I also know that this site's IM system has really deteriorated in the last year and it appears they are not interested in rectifying the issues.
