Here in Toronto, we are blessed to have the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, which is one of the top 5 in the world. My 2 BFFs are currently patients there. Cancer is indiscriminate and now affects 1 in 2 people. Keep strong.

I hope whom ever has that dreaded C word kicks it's ass and gets better soon. It's not a disease to take lightly as I have had family members who have dealt with it and it wasn't a winning battle for them unfortunately. It affects a lot of lives and I have heard some of these Cancer hospitals have had great successes.. I hope you have a great hump day my friend you have been missed..welcome back..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

I read an interesting commentary recently where the author (who had had cancer) was criticizing the war terminology that gets used for cancer treatment. "She bravely battled cancer". "He lost his fight with cancer." And so on.

Her issue was that when treatment doesn't work, that doesn't make the patient a "loser". It just means the patient and their doctor weren't able to come up with a successful treatment. And the terminology may promote a mentality where patients are expected to keep trying treatment after treatment no matter what, to the detriment of their remaining quality of life.

I would like to think if it ever happens to me, I'd know when it was time to stop struggling and enjoy my remaining time on earth, but who knows - maybe I'd be one of those folks wanting to try every last experimental treatment.

It's heartbreaking to keep hearing our National Health Service is literally on it's knees regarding funding, staff, beds, appointments etc.
There has been so many cuts in funding specific health departments, including cancer.
