Cruising Solo

I am being granted a rare opportunity of a few weeks free from my offspring. I figured I might take a cruise as the drop off point is so close by to ports, Miami. I need some pointers on how to cruise solo. How do I get the best price? What is a good way to hookup during a cruise? Does it require hanging by the pool, casino, bar, or its based on dinner seating
