When they cut down a tree, they look at the stump. They figure stuff out from the stump. How old the tree is, what the world was like (drought or flood), and with further analysis can figure out co2 levels, etc.

Is that applicable blogs? I'm looking at how many times my individual posts were read. It's been slowly going down. Is that an indication of my popularity? Somehow I doubt it, as I really haven't changed my methodology of putting out new posts.

Or is it an indication of less traffic on the site over time?

I don't have the answers. Just posting the puzzle for all of you ponder and enjoy.
