I'm a very busy professional who is highly educated with a successful career. I travel a fair bit for my job. I started out early in life being very shy about my sexuality (and focused instead on doing well in school, getting a good career, etc). But as I grew older, I realized that our ability to express our sexuality is very much driven by constraints of the social order of our times. Why was it acceptable during the Golden Age that Greek men slept with each other while treating their wives barely better than their slaves? Why do most of our major religions seek to suppress our natural sexual urges by driving denying our sexuality or forcing us into lifetime monogamous relationships? While there are clear benefits to these types of arrangements - it seems to me that it mainly rests with improving the ability of your progeny to survive through a more stable economic environment (a better chance to accumulate more wealth). It dawned on me then (and why I had a lot of sexual hang ups when I was younger) that the control of sexuality is about power (and that it is mostly about men seeking to dominate women). But that our primal instinct is seeking to drive us back to how we ought to live our sexual lives. This understanding has allowed me to free myself (to the degree that I can) from the social constraints of our times. I began to understand more about the lifestyle and that we can live more sexually freely. This has been a great revelation for me!
