Heard you guys got 5 feet of snow,,,more in some places.

That type of thing is why I moved to Texas the minute I got my college degree. I never wanted to shovel snow again!

We got 3 inches in the UK... planes cancelled, motorway's shut, railway delays!

Yes, even for here that amount in one day is astounding. Totals for the year can, and do amount to more. The outlaying areas received more as they usually do, but being only a few blocks from the lake itself and it being yet unfrozen sort of protects us from the really heavy stuff. Friends in the county were and some still are in worse shape than us.

Ah, to be in the Uk now that snow is here. Sorry couldn't help paraphrasing.
Three inches I could deal with, and have done so in the past. With an amount like that they wouldn't even close the schools down for a snow day around here, let alone anything else. Thanks for your comment!
