Site is what you make of if. But you also have to have realistic expectations. Look at the ratio of males to females. Consider how many here are just to express themselves sexually on line. Just like any other internet match up type site people have different agendas. It does suck to pay for membership and not get much out of it, but even non-paying members here have more privileges than most other sites. We all have IM privileges and can reply to emails and read blogs. At least you can see the membership status here. Other sites you can't so you don't know who is a paying member or not, I have been here a long time, sure there are technical glitches occasionally. Most times things like the IM work, but often the recipient of your IM is ignoring you or not actually checking messages. When looking at profiles, note the last time they were signed in. If it was more than 3 months, don't even bother contacting them...that could actually be 3 years or more. Not necessarily defending some of its bad business practices; however, in reality this is a porn site as well as a "dating" site. Many use it as such. You have to keep that in mind .

Exactly the site is what you make of it! But the constant problems with the site is getting old.

For me, the site works fine most of the time. Its glitchy at times yes but with so many people using the many features, its bound to have issues from time to time. My problem with the site is the users......People who dont take the time to read profiles, people that dont follow through with what they say and the many men that are too aggressive and or disrespectful. Just because its a sex site does not mean the women here are sluts or here only for your pleasure. We all love a and enjoy sex but there needs to be a connection first. I hear the single men on this site whine everyday about how they cant get laid and that the women dont respond to them, but the issue is them and their lack of respect. "Hey baby" and "You"re hot wanna fuck?" and sending dick pics before even showing their face are NOT good ways to start a convo. Just my 2 cents

It was a great site when I joined in 2000. Now? Not so much.

Well, as compared to what ?? It's a great adult social networking site, except for the glitches and a few other things, but then again, nothing is perfect.

THIS SITE HAS FALLEN SOOOO FAR FROM WHAT IT WAS. MANAGED POORLY. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. POLICIES THAT ARE NOT CUSTOMER-SENSITIVE AND DONE WITH NO OR LITTLE NOTICE. SNEAKY AND DECEITFUL. WHO WOULD EVEN THINK OF SHUTTING OFF EMAIL FOR MOST OF ITS MEMBERS AND FOR ITS GOLD MEMBERS? YOU PAY FOR AN ANNUAL FEE AND Passion DOES THIS TO YOU THE DAY AFTER/MONTH AFTER YOU PAY THEM? UNETHICAL AT BEST. IF I WERE PAYING GOLD MEMBERSHIP AND Passion SHUT OFF THE ABILITY FOR MOST MEMBERS TO READ MY MAIL I WOULD BE UPSET.

they've made it so that free members can't read or reply to messages in the last few days, which sort of ruins what usefulness it had for non paying members(and i imagine that will affect gold members as well, because they may send a message and wonder why they're not getting a reply). obviously if you don't pay you shouldn't expect to get the same features as a gold member, but with no way of reading or replying to messages the site's basically unusable for free members. it comes across as extortion. I have ranted in a few blogs of my own regarding issues with this site. Killing standard email is not a smart move. I recently moved, but the majority of views recently came in clumps from my old address, so something wrong there. I complained way back in an email to corporate about the obvious fakes and maybe that the verification photo should be mandatory. Ironically, they make it difficult a hell to report them . I complained how my homepage shows profiles that do not fit my cupid preferences, or those of the members who appear. I used to be a paid and standard member at ALT, and standard and awarded a trial gold here, with zero success. With all the other problems, it is a buyers market Joined POF as standard and not much better. No IM service and restricted email. If you are hunting for sex, it is a very restricted environment (ie no nudity allowed, closest i have seen to getting away with it was a woman in lingerie). I think there is a linked adult oriented site, but from what i researched it is a fake factory. They state they will use client accounts to trick people into paying. That being said, they at least allow anyone to view a basic profile page that can give a good idea about the person. That is, if they bother to fill out anything. I does suck that i would have to pay to see if anyone is interested with no idea if i would be in them. Also tried basic OKCupid and looking at passion.com, but at this point have just recognising i am stuck on celibate.

This site needs to explain why it says my points are negative -100 points ? The members are okay and just human with human issues but the site truly sucks and screws people continuously .

I have met more good people on instagram and facebook than I have when I was a paying member here. I say dont waste your money on the wealthy people that own this site.

this place does suck. now if a person sends you a message and you aren't gold you can no longer read it.

agree 100%--the site continues to decline. Latest example: Restricting how standards may generate points, then charging a point to chat on IM. With an IM system that freezes up after a few exchanges. Give me a break.

The technical issues on the site, especially with IM, are appalling.

The technical issues are horrible: Hotlist almost never works Sometimes you can tell when a vistor was last on the site, other times you cant What you can do if you are standard vs gold is not clear Half of the profiles in your search are old/discontinued members With all of the money they make, you'd think they'd fix these issues, but nope
