Being Bi Means .... ?

Does bisexuality really just mean you are gay and can't admit it or come to terms with it?

Not really.

If you read "WHAT IS BISEXUALITY? WHO IS BISEXUAL?" at http://Passion.com and watch "How To Know If You Are Gay, Lesbian Or Bisexual" at http://Passion.com, you'll learn some surprising things.

For example, there are at least 13 types of bisexuality! And a person's sexual orientation can easily change over the course of a lifetime.

I am a "hedonistic bisexual" -- primarily straight but will sometimes have sex with another gender primarily for fun or purely sexual satisfaction. I just can't turn down an orgasm, and I like getting people off, too!

Another category of bisexual is the "motivational bisexual." These are straight people who have sex with others of their gender only because a partner insists on it to titillate him or her. I guess a lot of couples here might be like that.

Being bi can be more difficult than being gay or straight. That's because neither gays nor straights really accept you. There are millions of bisexual people, but we tend to remain closeted more than gays.

I know that in my case, while I am a big supporter of GLBT rights, I feel reluctant to join a gay organization, because, well, I'm not gay! I feel a distinct lack of community but realize we have interests in common.

This wasn't meant to be a deep, long post -- just something to get your brain working. If you are bi, what do you think about it? If you are straight, what do you think about bisexuals?
