I used to like red wine but I find, after a couple of glasses, I get a bad head. So I now stick to dry white wine - the drier the better.

Dry white wine always has a long cheerful finish or at least a finish!

I never order wine in a restaurant for the same reason as you...to bloody expensive!
Another reason is...I don't drink wine "anytime". I do have wine on hand in case I get company!!

LOL....my dirty mind also takes over at the most inappropriate times.

My children and their other halves took me to dinner for my 60th birthday at the swankiest restaurant in Dublin...not my choice but I think they secretly wanted an excuse to go there.....anyway they asked me to choose the wine....I chose one of the cheaper reds (a Chilean Merlot) which was okay but 90 EURO A BOTTLE!!!! I went looking for it in the supermarket soon after and found it could be bought for 12 Euro.....such a flipping rip off!!!

I quite enjoy a glass of red occasionally, but I can drink a nice crisp chilled white by the gallon, anytime!!

Who writes those wine menu descriptions. Is it a bloke called; Ian Uendoes?

Wine descriptions amuse me....
Well they used to - but now no one had better hand me a wine list to read or I would just have to leave the room.

I do think that the authors of wine descriptions are probably lacking something and the line from Good Morning Vietnam springs to mind - maybe they are just in need of a blowjob... lol
